BaptistFinder is an independent church directory operated by the BaptistFinder Team. This notice explains what personal data we handle, why we handle it, who may receive it, how long it may be kept, and how you can exercise your rights.
Who is responsible for the data
For data handled through BaptistFinder, the BaptistFinder Team acts as the website operator and point of contact. You can reach us at baptistfinderteam@gmail.com or through the Contact page.
Information in the public directory
Published listings may include a church name, location, pastor or public contact person, service times, visitor and accessibility information, public contact details, website and social links, statements of faith, source links, verification status, and supporter status. Information may come from church representatives, visitors, official church pages, public websites, maps, social-media pages, and other sources identified on a listing. Please submit only details suitable for public display. Pending submissions are available to authorized administrators but are not shown in the public directory until approved.
Review-assisted website research
An authorized administrator may ask BaptistFinder to read a specific official church website or another source the administrator has permission to research. The tool suggests limited directory facts such as the church name, public address, public church phone or email, and official links. It does not intentionally copy page descriptions, photographs, or logos, and it does not guess service times. Suggested details remain private and pending until an administrator reviews, edits, and deliberately publishes a listing. The source address and research date may be retained with the review record so information can be checked or corrected later.
Information you send privately
The Contact page asks for your name, email address, subject, and message. Church and listing-update submissions may include your name, email, relationship to a church, requested changes, and supporting sources. Featured Supporter applications may include a contact person's name, email, phone number, church details, preferred payment method, application message, and links to church images. These records are available to authorized reviewers and are not published unless a field was also intentionally supplied as a church's public contact detail. Payment-card information is not collected on BaptistFinder.
Technical and security information
Hosting and security providers may receive IP addresses, request time, browser and device details, referring pages, security signals, and diagnostic logs needed to deliver the site and prevent abuse. This is separate from optional Google Analytics described below.
Information stored on your device
BaptistFinder uses browser storage to remember saved church IDs, language preference, your analytics choice, and when a support invitation was last shown or whether you dismissed it permanently. This information stays in your browser unless you clear it. On the admin page, Supabase stores an authentication session in an authorized administrator's browser so the administrator can remain signed in.
Church submission, listing-request and contact form drafts remain in memory on the current page when you close their pop-up. Drafts are not stored in browser storage and are lost if you reload or leave the page. Form details are sent only after you review and confirm them and complete the security check. The security check itself contacts Cloudflare.
Optional website analytics
If you select “Accept analytics” in the privacy notice, BaptistFinder loads Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the directory. Our directory events count searches, empty results, profile visits and directions/contact clicks using broad categories. We do not send typed search terms, form contents, church IDs, church names or individual profile URLs in these events. Page addresses are reduced to generic page categories and advertising personalization is disabled. Google may still receive approximate location and browser/device details and process technical identifiers. This is aggregate reporting, not a promise that Google receives no technical data. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers. BaptistFinder does not use this information for advertising and does not load Google Analytics when you select “Essentials only.” Google processes Analytics information under its own privacy terms.
How and why we use information
We use information to operate the directory, review and update church listings, display verification and supporter status, answer messages, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, manage applications, and improve the website. We do not sell personal information or use contact messages for unrelated marketing.
Depending on the situation, information is processed because you asked us to review a submission or respond to you, because you consented to optional analytics, because processing is needed to operate and secure the directory for a legitimate and proportionate purpose, or because the information was lawfully made public. We collect only what is reasonably connected to those purposes. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Service providers and international processing
Supabase provides database, secure form processing, and administrator sign-in services. Cloudflare provides website delivery, Turnstile security checks, and the server connection used when an administrator researches an approved public website. The source website receives a request identifying the BaptistFinder research tool. jsDelivr delivers the pinned Supabase browser library. Google provides optional Analytics. New listing requests are handled through Supabase, not an embedded Google Form. These providers may process submitted information and limited technical information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their systems may process information outside the Philippines. We do not authorize them to use submitted contact details for BaptistFinder advertising.
When information becomes public
Approved church details are intentionally public and may be indexed by search engines, included in link previews, or viewed outside the Philippines. Do not submit private personal contact details for publication. A submitter's private email or message is not made public unless it is also supplied as a church's public contact information.
Financial support
Financial support and Featured Supporter subscriptions are separate from verification. A paid placement is clearly labeled, appears only for eligible city or municipality searches, and may rotate fairly with other eligible subscribers. BaptistFinder displays payment instructions or links but does not collect payment-card details; the provider used to complete a transfer handles its own payment records.
Retention and security
We keep public listing information while it remains useful and reasonably accurate. Contact messages, applications, and pending submissions are reviewed periodically and removed or anonymized when no longer reasonably needed for responses, review records, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal obligations. Exact timing varies with the status of a request. Listing requests and private church-confirmation evidence are restricted to the review team. Older responses previously collected through Google Forms may remain there until an authorized reviewer removes them; the new form does not transfer or delete them.
Administration data is restricted through authenticated, allowlisted accounts and database access rules. The site uses HTTPS, security headers, input limits, and other safeguards described on the Data & Compliance page. No internet service can promise perfect security.
Your privacy rights and choices
Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may ask to be informed about processing, access personal data, correct inaccurate data, object or withdraw consent, request erasure or blocking, request portability where applicable, and raise a complaint. Report inaccurate public church information through the listing update form. For a private data request, use the Contact page or email us.
We may request enough information to verify your identity or authority, locate the relevant record, and protect other people. Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, disputes, legal obligations, or another lawful ground. Analytics is optional, and you can change your choice at any time.
Children's privacy
BaptistFinder is a general church directory and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Please do not submit a child's personal contact details through the website.
Complaints, changes, and contact
We may update this policy when the website or its data practices change. The revised date will appear at the top. Please contact us first so we can investigate a concern. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Philippine National Privacy Commission. Learn more from the NPC's official data-subject rights page.
